On Friday, Jan. 31, 澳门开奖历史记录 will host the second seminar in series of year-round employee-development events comprising its newly established Booker T. Washington Leadership Institute. The seminar, featuring Dr. Donna Y. Ford of the Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology, is entitled 鈥淢aximize Your Publishing Productivity: A Formula that Works!鈥�
Ford will share insights and concrete strategies to increase writing productivity and publishing outcomes. Two identical sessions in the Tompkins Hall Ballroom are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The sessions are open to members of the campus and surrounding community. A luncheon for university employees is scheduled between the two from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Ford is a distinguished professor in the College of Education and Human Ecology and a faculty affiliate with the Kirwan Institute. Her other faculty appointments have included Vanderbilt University, where she held two endowed chairs; previous service as a professor of special education at the Ohio State University; associate professor of educational psychology at the University of Virginia; and assistant professor at the University of Kentucky. She has authored more than 300 articles and book chapters; made more than 2,000 presentations at professional conferences and organizations, and in school districts; and authored, co-authored or co-edited 14 books.
A three-time graduate of Cleveland State University, she holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in communications and Spanish, a master鈥檚 in education (counseling), and a doctorate in urban education (educational psychology).
The university launched the Booker T. Washington Leadership Institute during the fall 2019 semester with the hopes of inspiring even greater leadership potential on campus and further instilling a culture excellence, inclusion, scholarship and service-learning. Initially, programming will be tailored for faculty and staff and geared toward exploring the impact of student learning and success. This will include focusing on innovative curricula and instruction, and integrating student learning and success into community improvement efforts. Eventually the institute鈥檚 activities will expand to include students.
Future workshops 鈥� all themed around leveraging education and leadership 鈥� will include topics ranging from student learning to cultural change. Each will be facilitated by university faculty and staff who will share their subject-matter expertise.
The institute鈥檚 leadership team includes Dr. Carla Jackson Bell of the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science, who also serves currently as interim provost; Dr. Olga Bolden-Tiller of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Dr. Maria Calhoun of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Shaik Jeelani, vice president for research and dean of Graduate School; and Dr. Thierno Thiam of the Department of History and Political Science.
