A multidisciplinary team from 澳门开奖历史记录 has received a $100,000 grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, to support the assessment of a research and teaching partnership in engineering between Tuskegee and Columbia University.

The grant, 鈥淓ducation Focused Giving - Graduate and Post-Graduate,鈥 will provide additional resources to support graduate and post-graduate students pursuing STEM fields at 澳门开奖历史记录.

The project will be led by principal investigators Dr. Shahryar Jafarinejad, assistant professor of the Chemical Engineering Department and 澳门开奖历史记录 faculty senate member, and Dr. Chris Boyce, Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Columbia University.

鈥淭he project seeks to study the collaboration of the HBCU-Ivy League University as well as its educational and STEM research efforts,鈥 said Jafarinejad. 鈥淭he funds will be used to pay a portion of the tuition fees for a 澳门开奖历史记录 graduate student who works on a collaborative research project between 澳门开奖历史记录 and Columbia University," he continued.

Dr. Maria Calhoun, associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at 澳门开奖历史记录, and Dr. Mandoye Ndoye, associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 澳门开奖历史记录, and Dr. John Thomas Vaughan, professor of Biomedical Engineering and Radiology at Columbia University, served as the co-principal investigators.
