澳门开奖历史记录 awarded a total of 522 degrees to its spring 2019 graduating class during its May 11 Spring Commencement Exercises. Celebrating with the graduates was speaker Loretta Lynch, the nation鈥檚 first female African-American U.S. attorney general, who herself became an alumna after receiving an honorary degree.

During her address, Lynch reflected on several life lessons, including some originating from her mother and her 30-plus-year accomplished legal career.

鈥淚t is not the title you bear, but the lives you will touch that will define your contributions to this world,鈥 Lynch shared. 鈥淒efine yourself early on because there will always be someone seeking to define you, based on a small glimpse of you.鈥

Lynch also shared some of her personal testimonies and explained how both time and failure will be realities for all graduates.

鈥淚 encourage you to hold on to your time, because now is your best time 鈥 the choices you make right now are yours. And the best part is, you get to decide on the person you want to become,鈥 she said.

鈥淵ou are going to succeed in some areas of your life that you never dreamed of, but know too that you鈥檒l fail in others 鈥 these areas that you fail in will actually become some of the best parts of your life, which will push you toward success,鈥 she continued.

Following Lynch鈥檚 remarks, President Lily D. McNair 鈥 presiding over her first spring commencement as president 鈥 bestowed upon the former U.S. attorney general an honorary doctor of laws degree. Lynch, who holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University, served as U.S. attorney general under President Barack Obama from April 2015 until January 2017. She also served twice as head of the U.S. Attorney鈥檚 Office for the Eastern District of New York, under both President Bill Clinton and Obama.

This spring鈥檚 graduating class included 397 students receiving bachelor degrees, 72 receiving master鈥檚 degrees, and four receiving doctoral degrees. In a separate commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4, the College of Veterinary Medicine awarded doctor of veterinary medicine degrees to 49 graduates.

At the May 11 ceremony, four students graduated with 4.0 GPAs: Nathalie Momplaisir (chemistry, Miami, Florida), Lakyah Tyner (mathematics, Detroit, Michigan); Quentoria Walton (chemistry, Columbus, Georgia), and Caleb Washington (sociology, Demopolis, Alabama).

This year鈥檚 graduating class included 13 dual-degree students: Rolanda Allen, (nursing and social work, Detroit Michigan); Ariel Bowman (business administration and supply chain management, Montgomery, Alabama); Curtis Calhoun (business administration, and sales and marketing, Tuskegee, Alabama); Cedric Cuff (business administration and finance, Huntsville, Alabama); Antonea Frasier (chemistry and mathematics, Oakland, California); Delayna Harris (biology and chemistry, Inglewood, California); Stephen Massenburg (business administration, and sales and marketing, Oxon Hill, Maryland); Joseph Pollard (mechanical engineering and physics, Makawao, Hawaii); Alicia Royes (accounting and finance, Miami, Florida); Briann Ryce (finance, and sales and marketing, Huntsville, Alabama); Carla Smiley (economics and finance, Roswell, Georgia); Taryn Stewart (accounting and supply chain management, Birmingham, Alabama); and Rodjahneque Williams (biology, and food and nutritional sciences, Apple Valley, California).
