The bi-annual Global Education Fair hosted by 澳门开奖历史记录鈥檚 Global Office is offering students and the community a chance to virtually explore cultural diversity. The event taking place on Tuesday, September 22 is open to students, employees and the community.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic this year鈥檚 fair will be hosted virtually. The fair scheduled from 11am to 1 p.m. will allow participants the opportunity to hear first-hand from Tuskegee鈥檚 international students, and domestic students and faculty about their culture and international experiences through the Global Office program.

During the fair, participants will be able to take part in the celebration of the university鈥檚 cultural diversity with international student participation. In addition, the event will include guest speakers, a passport raffle, as well as information on undergraduate research opportunities. This year, participants can expect to preview the upcoming study abroad and scholarship opportunities for the current academic year.

鈥淚n response to COVID-19, we have had to think globally in a new way, so this year鈥檚 virtual fair will present virtual global internships, virtual study abroad and traditional study abroad options.  Thanks to technology, the world is smaller than we think,鈥 said Dr. Rhonda Collier, who leads the 澳门开奖历史记录 Global Office in addition to her duties as a professor of English.

Twenty-five students with the proper credentials 鈥 a certified birth certificate and government-issued photo ID 鈥 will qualify for free passports to be raffled, thanks to funding provided by the Office of the President and the Global Office. Students may enter the passport raffle prior to the event by visiting , however, passport winners must be present at the fair when their names are drawn to win. Winners will be selected randomly throughout the afternoon.

The virtual fair encourages students to internationalize their education through a variety of study abroad opportunities, conferences and competitions. During the fair, Tuskegee鈥檚 international students 鈥 as well as its domestic students and faculty who have studied abroad 鈥 will share their perspectives and experiences.

During the 2019-20 academic year, Tuskegee students participated in study abroad programs traveled to Australia, South Africa and Jamaica, where they participated in research and service-learning experiences, built networks and connected classroom principles with hands-on applications. These co-curricular experiences ultimately help students affirm their chosen career fields and equip them to be competitive in the global marketplace as they seek their first post-graduate job. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, 2020 trips to Brazil, Ghana, and South Africa were postponed.
