Best Breakfast for the Skin; Glowy Smoothie

We’re always on the lookout for ways and means to work on our skin – to make it radiate and glow. No doubt, the products we slather on our skin are important. But if you really want to glow from the inside, we need to watch what we eat. Food is one of the most important sources of nourishment for our body. And considering the fact that our skin is the largest organ in our bodies, we really need to regulate our eating patterns for radiating, healthy skin.

Right from breakfast to dinner, everything you eat throughout the day reflects on your skin. And that’s why it is advisable to start off your day on the right note. Now the question is – what is the best breakfast for the skin? Something healthy, tasty yet nourishing, right? So, how about starting off your day with a super healthy smoothie?

We’ve already talked about what goes into making a perfect smoothie. It’s the “Three Fs One P” formula – fruits, fiber, fat, and protein. Each of these elements is extremely beneficial for the health of not only your skin but the entire body.

I personally swear by smoothies for skin with a soft, radiating glow. And my favorite glowy skin smoothie recipe is the cherry cocoa smoothie – it is refreshing, lip-smacking, and healthy all at once – just how a perfect smoothie should be. Before we begin with this healthy skin smoothie recipe, let’s have a look at why I’ve chosen Cherries and Cocoa for this smoothie:

Cherries

Loaded with the best vitamins, minerals, and fiber, cherries are something you should try including in all your smoothies! They are powerhouses of antioxidants and vital for the rejuvenation of cells in our body. Rich in anti-inflammatory compounds, cherries also help combat oxidative stress, which is often linked to premature aging as well as a whole range of chronic diseases. 

Cherries are also great for the health of your heart. They help remove excess sodium from your body, which also helps regulate blood pressure.

Cocoa

What’s not to love about cocoa?! It is delicious and brings with it a whole range of health benefits too! Cocoa is one of the richest sources of polyphenols and is abundant in flavonoids too. This also means that cocoa has antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory properties. The polyphenols also work to improve blood flow to your brain, thus improving the brain’s overall functioning. It also helps regulate blood pressure levels, by improving the nitric oxide levels in your body.
