Or just for a regular day, as every day is worth celebrating, right?

This cake is a no added sugar cherries cake – so if you’re wondering how to prepare an easy sugar-free chocolate cake with cherries, that’s exactly what I’ll be helping you with today. Before we begin, let’s talk about cherries – we talk and know a lot about how good chocolate is for our health. So today, it’s all about understanding why cherries are good for our bodies. Let’s have a quick look:

Benefits of Cherries

Looks are deceptive, and this applies to cherries too! They may appear to be small compared to other fruits, but actually, cherries are loaded with powerful nutrients. These small stone fruits are high in vitamin C, fiber, and potassium. When we consume cherries, the vitamin C content in them boosts the natural immunity of our bodies. The fiber works wonders for gut health and is great especially in case of constipation and other digestive issues. Likewise, potassium may help to reduce the risk of heart ailments and stroke.

Antioxidants and anti-inflammatory

Loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, cherries help combat oxidative stress in our bodies. Oxidative stress is the root cause of many chronic ailments, which means these humble fruits help you strengthen the body against major health conditions too.

The anti-inflammatory properties of cherries make them a perfect post-workout snack too. So every time you sweat it out at the gym or indulge in some intense physical activity, make sure you have added lots of cherries to your post-workout fruit salad. It will soothe the muscles and help the body recover from exercise-induced inflammation and pain. The anti-inflammatory compounds in cherries also reduce symptoms related to arthritis and swelling in other parts of the body.

Take care of your heart!

A generous intake of cherries in the diet can also work wonders for the health of the heart. Consuming cherries or drinking cherry juice (with no added sugar – ideally homemade) is also attributed to good, sound sleep. If you’re stressing out about irregular sleeping patterns (you’re not alone!), it’s time to start including a healthy portion of cherries in our regular meals.

Cherries anytime, anywhere!

The best part about cherries is that you can add them to anything and everything you wish to. We can eat them fresh, make a compote or dry them to add to a variety of dishes. Or you could simply add them to a chocolate cake with cherries. Cherries come in a variety of colors, and the shades can vary from yellow to deep red. Irrespective of their color, all cherries offer similar nutritional composition. So, what are you waiting for? Get yourself a batch of cherries from the supermarket right away.

Until then, I’ll list down the recipe of this vegan chocolate cake:
