Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

Hey Loves!

Fall calls for colour – in your wardrobe, home décor, food and well, drinks! Why leave the drinks out? Especially when you can blend in the colours of autumn right into your sparkly drinks? There are so many popular fall drinks out there – dirty chai latte, eggnog, maple latte – you name it and it’s available out there. Today I will bring a new recipe Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte,

But here’s a thought – why pick these drinks off the shelves, when you can whip them up yourself?

The processed drinks you purchase from the stores are loaded with calories. With a whole lot of sugar and preservatives in these drinks, it’s best to stay away from them.

Instead, pick fresh ingredients from your local market, get them home, and get going with drink recipes! Now there, don’t fret over their complexity. I’ve got you an easy-breezy recipe to a lip-smacking drink – the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

How to prepare a Pumpkin Spice Latte? It’s super simple and quick. But before we get into the details of the Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe, I’d like to tell you a little about the magical ingredients in this delicious drink – humble pumpkin and sassy cinnamon!

Pumpkins are a lot more than mere décor items used around Thanksgiving and Halloween – they’re a powerhouse of nutrients! The good ol’ jolly pumpkin passes off as a vegetable, but scientifically, it is a fruit as it contains seeds. An amazing fact about pumpkins is that its seeds are equally nutritious as the pulp.

Rich in Vitamin A, this fruit is perfect to keep a check on your eye health. It is loaded with antioxidants, which help keep a check on excessive free radicals in your body. Consumption of pumpkin protects your body against heart ailments and cancer.

Pumpkins contain a high vitamin C percentage and work remarkably well to build the army of your body – the white blood cells. Despite being loaded with immense nutrients, they are very low on calories and the best companion on your weight loss journey.

All fantastic reasons to include this in the Pumpkin Spice Latte, right?

There’s a reason why this spice features in most popular recipes across the world. Cinnamon has this sweetish taste with a subtle pungent hint, which makes it the perfect ingredient in sweet as well as savoury delicacies. So whether it’s a cake, a drink, or flavoured rice, a dash of cinnamon brings in the required zing in these dishes.

Although in the centuries gone by, cinnamon was a scarce and priced commodity, these days it is easily available and cheap too. This is another reason why it is so commonly used in food across the world now.

Cinnamon is full of antioxidants. In fact, it is a superfood that has the highest amount of antioxidants. It is so powerful that you can easily substitute chemical preservatives with cinnamon – a natural preservative.

It boosts sensitivity to the hormone insulin, thus regulating your blood sugar levels. In degenerative ailments such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, cinnamon plays a critical role to revitalize neurons. It also has properties that destroy toxic cancer cells and helps your body fight fungal infections.
