The Rejuvenating Secret

Have you ever noticed that people that practice sport regularly look healthier and younger than those who don’t? What is their rejuvenating secret?

We obviously can’t control our chronological age, even though the vast majority of us would love to, right? But what we can do is control our biological age. This is the one that refers to the time that has passed since the last body cells where regenerated. 

Therefore, the fasted the body cells regenerated, the younger you look. And, how does the body regenerated its cells more rapidly? 

Through exercising, which actually is nothing more than breaking down muscle tissue. Depending on the activity level, it can take around 6 to 8 months for the body to regenerate 100 percent of the body tissue at the cellular level. Isn’t it great? Essentially you can be a new person every 6 to 8 months!

And here comes the best part! How are those cells going to regenerate? 

Well, certainly they are going to use whatever they have handy, and guess what? You control that with what you eat during that regenerating process. 

You know I always advocate for a Whole Foods Plant-Based Diet. But I understand that everyone is different, and therefore we all have to listen to our bodies and see what they are needing. Nevertheless, here is an easy tip to implement no matter what diet you’re following; introduce more antioxidants in your life. This is one of the secret for rejuvenating.

Although exercise is great to regenerate your body at a cellular level, it also produces light levels of oxidative stress. That is why it’s so important to eat antioxidant food, furthermore just after exercising. Because as you know, antioxidants are chemicals only find in plants that help stop or limit the damage caused by oxidative stress. 

My favorite way to nourish my body with antioxidants is with fresh veggie juices. And why juices and not the whole fruit? 

Because just after exercising, the body often has trouble digesting due to the exercise fatigue, that’s why liquids will help to make it easier to assimilate the nutrients.

My top 3 are the following:

  1. Celery Juice

Fresh celery provides a source of vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, folate, manganese, calcium, riboflavin, magnesium, and vitamin B6. It has a high percentage of water and electrolytes that can help prevent dehydration, which is perfect for after exercising. 

2. Green Love

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 leaves kale with stalk
  • 1/2 inch ginger fresh
  • 5 cucumber mini
  • 2 apple 
  • 8 stalks celery

3. Carrot Paradise

INGREDIENTS

  • About 10 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 inch ginger fresh
  • 1/2 inch turmeric fresh
  • pick of cayenne pepper

Note that all these juices are meant to be done with the low extractor juicer.
