If you are looking for eco-friendly fashion choices that are affordable and do not loom over your conscience like a heavy cloud, we have a list prepared. This is a list of our favorite sustainable fashion brands in the spring of 2022. These brands boast sustainable fashion designers who make some of the most stylish and high quality clothes.

Once you open the page of this fashion store, you will read the following: “Save the earth, one sustainable dress at a time”. This is what Reformation believes in and strives towards. Founded in 2009 in Los Angeles, this sustainable fashion brand is a celebration of feminine figures with a special focus on sustainable practices.

Reformation has designed some beautiful clothing items that range from wedding gowns to shoes. They use low-impact materials, rescued deadstock fabrics, and repurposed vintage clothing.

This slow fashion brand acknowledges the exploitative conditions under which workers toil to make the dresses for many brands. To avoid this, they have set up their own factory in Los Angeles where there is an amazing team; each of whom is respected and paid a fair wage.

If you are looking to shop for quirky prints or just some regular tops, keep in mind Reformation. Go green!

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney is a name well-known among the community of fashion enthusiasts as well as sustainable fashion designers. Ever since its launch in 2001, the brand has been conscious of being kinder to Mother Earth. They have abstained from using materials like leather, feathers, fur, and skin since the beginning.

In 2010, this slow fashion company went completely PVC-free. In 2020, they debuted biodegradable stretched denim, bio-lenses as a part of the Stella McCartney eyewear. They also launched a sustainable innovation consisting of underwear and swimwear.

The designs are unique and a very high standard is maintained when it comes to quality. Their recent Spring 2022 Collection is for women who enjoy the moment but are also conscious about the future.

You can check out their website for more information on their goals and collections.

Mate The Label

This is one of the most popular sustainable fashion brands in the USA with “dress clean” as its motto. They are set up in Los Angeles. All the dresses sold are manufactured using non-toxic, natural, and organic materials. Their mission? To provide people everywhere with essentials that are clean from seed to skin.

The founder of Mate, Kayti Carr, along with the rest of the team has set up a clean and eco-friendly fashion brand. They ensure that harmful toxins are kept out of the supply chain by only using organic materials and non-toxic dyes.

Quality is also something they focus on. Their dresses and other fashion essentials are manufactured to last a lifetime. To prevent the plant from being exposed to harmful pesticides, they use completely organic yarns.

Mate has ensured that the working conditions of the laborers are safe, comfortable, and fair. Their labels and packaging are completely plastic-free. All this is in addition to the great designs they come up with, ranging across the color palette. This truly makes this slow fashion brand a desirable choice.

Knickey is an excellent initiative that sells innerwear but has a twist to it. They have an organic and eco-friendly approach to their range of underwear, bralettes, briefs, bikinis, and thongs. They use organic materials to make underwear that allows your skin to breathe, regulates airflow, ensures hygiene, all the while minimizing their eco-footprints.

Knickey has gone to great lengths to reduce its carbon emissions. They also have a wonderful recycling program in place that allows you to send them your worn-out inner garments (most of which end up in landfills, contributing to harming the planet). They recycle these garments and return them in the form of carpet padding, insulation, and so on.

They have some great designs that are size inclusive and come in a variety of colors. Knickey is a testament to the fact that slow fashion can be just as exciting and affordable as the other fashion choices.

Girlfriend Collective

The Girlfriend Collective is the last one on our list of some of the best sustainable fashion brands. This popular womens’ activewear brand turns old plastic bottles, fishing nets, and other waste that usually ends up in the trash, into bras, leggings, and shorts. Each garment is made of 79% recycled water bottles. Can you think of a better initiative to save the planet?

Another interesting aspect of this brand is that you can send them your old Girlfriend Collective garments and they will recycle those into new Girlfriend pieces for you. They have designed an eco-friendly supply chain that uses only organic dyes and other such materials.

The founders of Girlfriend Collective, Ellie and Quang Dinh, launched the brand in 2016. Since then the company has strived to become as sustainable as possible. They have also ensured that their workers have fair working conditions.

Summing up

Sustainability is the need of the hour as climate change takes a turn for the worse. Now is the time to make responsible choices and assist these sustainable fashion designers in their goal to make the Earth a safe place to live in. These brands make it possible for you to buy stylish clothes while simultaneously doing some good for the planet and its inhabitants.
