So, how to make this summer creamy soup is exactly what we’ll be talking about today. But before that, let’s gain some insight into why you need to stay hydrated and how members of the cucurbit family help you stay hydrated.
Why do we Need to Stay Hydrated?
The first and foremost reason is that it’s summer and the temperatures out there are soaring. If we don’t hydrate ourselves enough, we end up feeling lethargic and tired throughout the day. The amusing part about hydration is that all we need to do is sip on some water or juices throughout the day to keep up our water levels. Yet, we don’t do it.
Lack of hydration in our bodies can also cause severe headaches. This often leaves us wondering if we have some serious ailments when all we had to do was drink enough water! Likewise, lack of enough water can also lead to digestive ailments and constipation. As our bodies are made up of 75% water, they cannot really function well with the lack of it.
Our bodies constantly lose out on the water via sweat and urine, and we need to keep replenishing our water levels on a regular basis. Those exposed to the summer heat (construction workers, mechanics, sportspersons, etc.) need to be a lot more careful.
Benefits of Cucumber
Cucumbers are 96% water, which is why we need to include lots of them in our diet. Especially during summers, when our bodies are craving water as well as nutrients. In such scenarios, cucumbers are the perfect solution, as they are rich in nutrients too. Along with lots of water cucumbers also have enough fiber to help get rid of constipation and other digestive issues too.
The best part about cucumbers is that they are super easy to add to our diets. We can add it to salads, soups, or simply peel off the skin and eat it! Cucumbers are low on calories and have a refreshing, crisp flavor making them the perfect summer snack.
