5 Best Vegan Restaurants in Austin

Arlo’s Curbside Kitchen aims to offer delectable, fresh food with a 100% plant-based menu. However, this isn’t the typical healthy food that people love. Instead, this is wholesome comfort food that’s perfect for anyone planning to enjoy the nightlife scene.

Drop-in and choose from a variety of delicious burgers and tacos, Frito pie, mac n cheese and multiple sides.

Chris Baker has been operating Arlo’s Truck for years and has won the hearts of locals that say he makes some of the best burgers they’ve tasted – ever.

Our Star: BBQ Burger with a side of sweet fries

Li’l Nonna’s

Li’l Nonna’s offers dine-in and carry-out options, and they’ve recently partnered with Uber Eats and Favor to provide delivery options to locals. Enjoy the taste of Italy with flavorful San Marzano tomato sauce, homemade vegan mozzarella and thick Sicilian-style pizza.

Multiple NY Style pizza options and gluten-free pizza are available, too.

Just like Arlo’s, Li’l Nonna’s operates out of a food truck and has outdoor seating options. The truck is currently located right in front of Austin Winery.

Vegan Nom

Vegan Nom is said to be Austin’s original vegan taco truck. Delivery and takeout options are available, with rockin’ vegan tacos to-go. Chris Rios searched for the perfect vegan taco back in 2011 when he became vegan.

He couldn’t find his perfect taco, so in 2012, he started Vegan Nom.

Vegan Nom now offers hand-crafted tacos, burritos, out-of-this-world queso and a wide range of Tex-Mex options to choose from. Plus, the company is 100% dedicated to two things most Austin residents are passionate about: food and saving the planet.

Our Star: Gracias Madre Breakfast Tacos & Birdie Sanders Nachos

Beer Plant

Beer Plant wants everyone to drink beer and eat plants. Multiple dining options are available, from in-house to delivery and pickup. In addition, brunch and dinner menus are available, with a farmhouse-inspired menu.

Hearty plant-based dishes are on the menu, as well as 40 craft taps.

The gastropub has been proudly serving the area since 2015, and the number of regulars continues to rise year after year. Portions are big, dishes are interesting, and the dessert is out of this world.

Our Star: The Carolina & Pistachio Rose Semolina Cake

Bistro Vonish

Bistro Vonish offers pickup and delivery options, but there’s also a fire pit and picnic table area where modern vegan meals are served. The bistro focuses heavily on local ingredients and offers a seasonal menu.

Chef Craig has been elevating vegan cuisine for over eight years.

Bistro Vonish offers a wide range of food, including holiday options that include traditional dishes that are all vegan.
