1. 2 TU teams participated – BE (Black Enterprise) Hackathon. Event sponsored by American Airlines, Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, October 6-8, 2022.
2. 1 TU CS student participated in National Minecraft Contest hosted by Microsoft, and won the 3rd place, August, 2022.
3. Guest Lecture (Virtual): TU students participated the invited virtual lecture by the officers from Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) on the cybersecurity work at DIA and how to apply federal government jobs, March 22, 2022

6. Guest Lecture (Virtual): TU students participated the invited virtual lecture by the hiring manager of Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) under DoD on how to prepare themselves for federal government cybersecurity related jobs, September 14, 2021
7. HBCU Minecraft: Education Edition Hackathon, May 2021, TU team's (4 students) submission was selected to be played by students of District of Columbia Public Schools and was showcased at the Ed Games Expo on June 4, 2021.
8. MetaCTF Cyber Games Capture the Flag Competition, October 24, 2020.
9. 2 student participated 2020 Summer Seminar organized by Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence - The Summer Seminar is a two-week program held twice a year and is designed to provide selected students from CAE-designated universities with in-depth exposure to the intelligence field with a focus on intelligence analysis through classroom instruction, interactive exercises, simulations, briefs, panel discussions and agency tours.

CS Department hosted ITEST Summer Academy for High School teachers and students, July 06-July 29, 2022

CS Department hosted a summer academy for high school teachers and students. The summer academy covered topics in Cybersecurity and made the participates aware of cyber attacks threats and the solutions to prevent cyber attacks. ()

CS Department hosted JROTC Summer Academy for JROTC cadets, June 12-June 25, 2022

CS Department hosted an onsite summer academy for twenty JROTC cadets from June 12 through June 25.  The cadets were housed at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ and enrolled in a 3-credit hours dual enrollment introductory computer science course. The primary course content included computer fundamentals and cybersecurity concepts.

CS Faculty chaired the breakout session at 2022 SaTC PI meeting at Washington DC, May 31-June 02, 2022

Dr. Fan Wu chaired the breakout session on "Security Education" at 2022 SaTC PI meeting at Washington DC to share his educational experience from CAE-CD. This breakout session addressed two of the most important issues faced today and in the next ten years in cybersecurity education. These issues need to be deliberated because they have consequences for you, your students, your institutions, and the nation. Workforce composition: More people, more diverse, and more qualified? How can such workforce composition be achieved? What is happening and what needs to be created for such a workforce? Teaching content: What should we be teaching to what students? What will become obsolete? Which material is the most important to be taught?

R Data Science Coding Bootcamp, May 17-18, 2021

Computer Science Department at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ hosts a on-Line coding bootcamp jointly provided by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ that taught basic R programming, data wrangling and integration, visualization. Practice examples include COVID19 data analysis and survey data analysis (Workshop Website).

Summer Drone Academy, June 05-28, 2019

Computer Science Department at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ hosts a summer drone academy for local high school students. Summer Program that targets students attending high school (rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders) in the surrounding Blackbelt school districts: Macon County and Montgomery County. This summer we had over 30 student participants. IC CAE related topics included in the summer curriculum for program attendees were: Social °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Data Analysis and Visualization, Password Security, Privacy and Security, Security Threats - Ransomware and Identity Theft. The participants were shocked to learn of the risks they expose themselves to on the Internet and appreciated the exercises which demonstrated and taught them how to protect themselves in the Cyber Environment (Project Website).

Mobile Software Security Workshop, May 04, 2019

Computer Science Department at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ hosts a workshop on Mobile Software Security. This workshop is intended to promote Secure Mobile Software Development (SMSD) in education, to enhance student learning experience, and to foster collaboration among faculty in SMSD field (Workshop website).

The University has been awarded CyberCorps: SFS-Scholarship grant to strength the national cyber security workforce.

Golden Tigers Team participated in 2016 Black Enterprise TechConneXt Hackahthon competition and advanced to the TOP 3

°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ participated in 2016 Black Enterprise TechConneXt Hackahthon competition, which just took place in San Fransisco, CA during Oct. 8 - Oct. 11, 2016. The golden tiger team members include Joshua Silas (Freshman, EE), Madison Helmstetter (Junior, CS), Deasia Little (Senior, CS) , Jaylin Brown (Senior, CS, Team Leader), The team advanced to top 3 and made the presentation to the event. We learned the lessons including teamwork, product design and development, etc. The basic cyber contents, including secured wireless communication, software security design, etc. .

The Second Summer CSI Digital Forensics Camp, June 25 - June 29, 2012

The second Summer Digital Forensics (CSI) Camp was held in Computer Science Department at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ between June 25 and June 29 in 2012.  Twelve students from local high schools attended the second CSI Camp.

The First Summer CSI Digital Forensics Camp, June 27 - July 01, 2011

The first Summer Digital Forensics (CSI) Camp was held in Computer Science Department at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ between June 27 and July 01 in 2011.  Seven students from local high schools attended the first CSI Camp.
