听听听听 Health Sciences (a Bachelor of Science degree)

The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences begins with the general education curriculum common to all 澳门开奖历史记录 undergraduates in the first two years of study. The final two years of study consist of the concentration component that permits a multidisciplinary investigation of an area, problem, or theme within health sciences that is meaningful to a student鈥檚 interest and career aspirations. This degree requires 120 hours, which does not include Physical Education and Orientation which are required courses. Consistent with 澳门开奖历史记录鈥檚 requirements for undergraduates, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 must be achieved for graduation. In addition to courses explicitly listed on the curriculum sheet, courses broadly described as 鈥淗ealth science requirements must satisfy degree requirements upon approval by the program coordinator or the department head.
The mission of the Health Sciences program is to educate quality competent and compassionate health care leaders in the health professions. The program will prepare graduates to advance globally through excellence, innovation, and collaboration in teaching, practice, scholarship, research and to transform the communities they serve.
The first and second year will provide a solid foundation for anyone interested in a medical career. This curriculum will prepare the graduate to move into post-graduate programs that specialize in advanced areas such as chiropractic, optometry, public health, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, dental school perquisites, etc.
Health Care studies programs provide a liberal arts and humanities base and help prepare the graduate for entry-level positions within the healthcare industry.
Health Care informatics for those students who plan to specialize in technology and the use of electronic health records.
Public Health tracks are specifically targeted to those who want to pursue a career in the public health service and educated students on public health principles and global Health issues.
Health sciences graduates can pursue non-clinical positions that require an in-depth understanding of the healthcare industry. These roles are usually classified as leadership or administrative positions and sometimes involve coordinating, supervision, or training others.
Social Work: Students who wish to earn the Social Work Minor must complete 18 semester hours in Social Work with a 鈥淐 鈥済rade
Psychology: Students who wish to earn Psychology Minor must complete 18 semester hours in Psychology with a 鈥淐 鈥済rade
*Students may pursue any other Minors from 澳门开奖历史记录 with grade stipulations
A Minor or Concentration application must be declared before the third year. Contact your Advisor and the School of the minor that you will be seeking.
A change of major to Health Science is applicable prior to the applicant's senior year. All Health Sciences core courses and requirements must be completed to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences.
